Black Sesame Mustard Popcorn
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
1 teaspoon ground mustard, such as Colman’s
1 teaspoon fine salt
1/4 cup popcorn kernels
1 paper lunch bag and masking tape
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1. In a small bowl, stir together the sesame seeds, mustard, and salt. Set aside.
2. Take the paper lunch bag and fill it with 1/8 cup of popcorn kernels. Fold the top 1/2 inch edge and fold again, folding twice. Secure the folded edge with masking tape. Place the bag in the microwave and pop for about one and half minutes listening for the pops to be 2-3 seconds apart. Meanwhile, combine the butter and sesame oil in a small bowl. Once the first batch of popcorn is ready, place it in a large bowl and drizzle half of the butter-sesame oil mixture over and sprinkle half the sesame seed mixture, occassionally tossing to coat. Repeat with the other half of the popcorn kernels.
3. Finally, use your hands to toss everything together and ensure that the ingredients are evenly distributed. Serve immediately.
Makes 3-4 servings. Enjoy!
