Today is my husband and my two year wedding anniversary and I can’t believe how quickly the time has passed! In honor of our anniversary, I thought I would share a few of my favorite photos from the day that were captured by our amazing photographer Mike Cassimatis.
H&M is one of my favorite retailers for affordable fashion and each summer, I always find them to be a good source for cute summer dresses. I picked up this yellow dress because of its fun color and liked the silhouette so much that I even bought it in a second color. I've been wearing the two dresses on repeat. I like that it works well both layered with a jacket or cardigan or on its own on hot summer days.
A few other dresses I've had my eye on from H&M include this pretty blue option, this tie strap dress with a matching mini version, this smocked dress similar to the one above but in a pattern, and this tunic style mini dress.
Happy Friday all! It's hard to believe we are at the end of June and the 4th of July is just around the corner. While this summer looks different than previous years, it certainly seems to by flying by. I've been trying to take advantage of the little things with the warm weather outside - evening walks, morning bicycle rides, picnics in the park, and glasses of rosé - to name a few. Focusing on these little joys keeps things in perspective and makes me realize how lucky I am. Wishing you all a weekend full of joy!
This slab pie is one of my favorites and would be perfect for the 4th of July! It's festive and a great summer treat!
Speaking of the 4th of July, the Macy's 4th of July fire works show is adapting to a new format this year due to coronavirus. Other cities are also changing their shows as well.
I found this article about Luxury Resale fascinating, especially the different brand preferences by country!
As I shared earlier this week, I love neutral accessories for summer and this monogrammed mini basket is so cute!
This article about an event planner really shows how the event industry has been impacted by coronavirus.
How adorable would this dress be for the 4th of July? It's festive without trying too hard.
This kitchen remodel is dreamy! I never thought I could love blue cabinets so much.
With summer officially here, I am all about simple summer dressing and neutral accessories make that easy. I love the casual but chic feel of straw/raffia accessories and white in the summer. They also go with just about anything.
This tote is perfect for the farmers market and has both long and short straps. This wicker bag is so cute and looks similar to premium designer wicker bags, but at a fraction of the price. I've had this clutch for years and always use it in the summer. These flat sandals are cute and look super comfy. And, this headband is the perfect finishing accessory to a summer look.

Behind dresses, jumpsuits/rompers are another summertime favorite for me. They make it easy to feel pulled together and are so comfortable. I recently picked up this one and love the smocking and ruffled sleeve details. For now, I've been wearing it casually for market runs and can't wait to dress it up for dinners out in the future. I've styled it here both ways to show it's versatility.

Happy Friday everyone! I used to do a series entitled Friday Finds where I would share something interesting I had found on the web each week. I thought it would be fun to bring back this series, but instead of sharing a single item each week, I would expand it to include 5-10 items. So let's get into this weeks Friday Finds!
Today marks the 155th anniversary of the end of slavery in the US and is known as Juneteenth. I had not known much about the Juneteenth holiday until recently and it's been interesting to read about the history of Juneteenth and I'm proud of these companies for recognizing it as an official holiday.
I was surprised to hear Julia's news on the future of Gal Meets Glam Collection. While it's bittersweet, I am excited to see her next steps.
I have been following Monika's home build from the beginning and am so excited that her family just moved in. I love following her instagram to see glimpses of the house. Her style is serious home goals.
Speaking of home decor, I am also loving this new to me Instagram account My Cozy Corner.
This dress is so pretty and the print reminds me of Zimmerman, but at a fraction of the price. I also love this one.
Living in Amsterdam now, I love taking advantage of the amazing flower selection at the local farmers' markets. It's been fun to follow along with Cake Atelier Amsterdam to see the stunning flower arrangements she makes with flowers from these same markets. Plus, her sugared flowers are a form of art.
I love easy salads in the summertime and this one has been a go-to for me for years! It's the perfect refreshing salad on a warm summer day.
Growing up my grandparents had a garden where they would grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Every year they would always have an abundance of rhubarb and my grandma would make rhubarb jam. She would always give my family a couple jars. As a kid though, I did not like it and couldn't understand who could like something so bitter. I avoided rhubarb for years because of it. A few years ago, I finally tried it again and loved the sourness. Now every year I look forward to picking up some rhubarb to make some type of sweet from a classic strawberry rhubarb pie to a rhubarb cordial. I simply can't get enough of it!
I recently came across this recipe for rhubarb scones and quickly added them to my must bake list. They were easy to make with a handful of ingredients (I used regular sugar instead of the called for vanilla sugar) and the scones ended up with the perfect balance between sweet and sour. To take them one step further, when serving I topped them with clotted cream (cream cheese would also work) and strawberry jam. The result was the ideal breakfast or afternoon treat to pair with a cup of tea.
In the summertime, dresses are a staple in my wardrobe. I love the ease of being able to quickly throw one on and feel put together. Especially when said dress is just as easy to dress up as it is to dress down. This textured white dress is that. It's just as easy to pair with sneakers as it is with espadrilles or heels. Though it's going to be a bit until I have a reason to dress it up with heels, I am certainly looking forward to it.
I started this blog 7 years ago as a creative outlet and place to share my passions. Over time though, I posted less and less and life continued on. However, I always kept Eat Play Dress in the back of my mind. It was something that had brought me so much joy and pushed me to learn so many new things. I could not just let it go. It felt like an unfinished project and something I needed to return to. So after two years of not posting, I am excited to come back to this small corner of the web and get back to posting what I love. To new beginnings in 2020!
