The first day of winter is days away and it has me wanting all things cozy and comfy. I recently picked up this fleece and I can't stop wearing it. It's so soft and such an easy layer to throw on when I am a cold inside. I am even thinking I should get one of their pullover fleeces, because it is going to be long winter.
I also cannot forget to mentions these boots. The quality on them is amazing, they are so cute, and the price cannot be beat! You must check them out!

Thanksgiving will be different for everyone this year and for us it means celebrating just the two of us and from abroad. As food is a such a focus for Thanksgiving, I wanted to share with all of you what we plan to make for our paired down Thanksgiving. For the menu, we each picked our Thanksgiving must-have dish and then added some other favorites to round out the meal.
Duck Breasts With Citrus Port Cherry Sauce - While we both like turkey for sandwiches, neither of us really like roast turkey that much and because small turkeys are still quite large, we decided we would change to another poultry option. We thought about doing cornish hens, but as we have never made them at home, we decided we didn't want to make things complicated by adding a new to us main dish. We have made these duck breasts numerous times and find them easy and delicious, so they will be a great poultry alternative to turkey.
Mashed Potatoes (My Husband's Must-Have) - My husband is a big mashed potatoes fan, so I knew we couldn't pass on having them for our mini Thanksgiving. I do prefer mashed potatoes with skins, so we will be following this recipe.
Stuffing - Stuffing is my second favorite item for Thanksgiving after pecan pie. I have been having this one at Thanksgiving for the past few years and will be making it again this year. The recipe is so good!
Glazed Carrots - I first made these carrots this past spring and they are delicious! The maple glaze also makes them feel extra festive.
Green Beans - With everything else on the heavier side, I wanted a green vegetable to cut through all the fat. Ina's recipes are always amazing, so I am sure these will be the perfect addition to our mini Thanksgiving.
Pecan Pie (My Must-Have) - Pecan pie has been my favorite pie as long as I can remember. I also only have it on Thanksgiving, so it's something I always look forward to on the holiday.
Banana Republic already started their Black Friday sale and everything is 50%. They have so many great pieces right now that I had to share some of my favorites that I've gotten for myself and others that are great gift ideas. I've already picked up this sweater and these pants and am also eyeing these neutral booties - so chic! I think these slippers, any of their jewelry (I especially love this and this), these gloves, and this hat are such great gift ideas. I know I would love to receive any of them! I took a bit of a break from posting here the last couple weeks to spend time with friends and family while we were in the States. With living in Amsterdam, we had not seen our friends and family in the US since before all the spring lockdowns, so we really tried to maximize our time in the States while being safe and cautious. We are back in Amsterdam for now, and I am excited to be back posting and have lots of fresh content to share with you guys for the holidays!
With Thanksgiving only a week away, I thought I would start there. Though Thanksgiving will be looking a little different this year, I still plan to dress up for the occasion and as food is a main focus, I also plan to keep things on the dressy but comfortable side. This sweater dress is the ideal piece for the dressy, comfortable look I am looking to achieve. Plus its a-line silhouette is very flattering and the soft cashmere makes it oh so cozy. I love the brown color for a fall vibe, but also think the black is a classic wardrobe piece. And because the dress is on the casual side, I know I will be able to continue to wear it all fall and winter!

Sugar Paper for Target is one of my all time favorite collaborations. My friends know I obsess over this collection every year! I love the aesthetic of the designs and that while collection is technically for the holidays, the gift boxes, gift bags, and wrapping paper for the most part can be used year round because the color combos are so classic. I am especially loving the new blue color they have this year.
As this years collection has already launched on Target’s website, I thought I would share my favorites now as items often sell out. Also, as I said before many of the items can be used year round, so while you are buying something from a Christmas collection now, you can actually use it now as well. I love cashmere sweaters and though they are an investment, I find my cashmere sweaters last so much longer than other sweaters in my closet. I have had a number of cashmere sweaters for years and they still look like new. Yes, from time to time I do need to remove pills (this tool works great to do that), but it's so easy.
Over the years I have tried cashmere from numerous brands and I have found that the Bloomingdale's private label brands produce the BEST quality for the price point. Their cashmere is soft, comes in both basic and fashion/novelty styles, and the quality is similar to cashmere twice the price. The two Bloomingdale's private label brands are C by Bloomingdale's and Aqua Cashmere and right now they are ON SALE with the Bloomingdale's Friends & Family sale. The sale is such a good opportunity to invest in a couple of pieces. I have rounded up some of my favorite pieces above with even more favorites linked below. I feel like it has been months upon months since I have worn such a polished look. It's because I have not had the occasion to wear such looks. I've realized though I don't need an occasion to wear a more polished look. Sometimes it just feels good to dress up and that is exactly what happened with this black & white look. I put it on and loved it so much that I knew I wasn't going to WAIT to have an occasion to wear it. Instead, I just wore it on a random day of the week and it felt so good! I encourage you all to push yourself and dress up for no reason, but to put a smile on your face!

After my post earlier this week on green and now today's outfit post, you can see how obsessed I am with the color right now. Before now, I have never really owned much green and I am wondering why not. It's such a versatile color and I really love it in this more muted shade. The color feels feminine and classic, especially in a trench like this one. It's a piece I know I will be wearing all fall long!
